THE FOLLOWING LETTER WAS MAILED TODAY TO 1/15/04 FURLOUGHEES

You will receive two copies, one certified mail and one regular mail.

February 4, 2004

Dear [Flight Attendant],

On January 16, 2004, I sent you a letter detailing the Company's
plan to comply with an arbitrator's decision that ordered the
Company to offer a voluntary furlough to offset the involuntary
furloughs that went into effect on January 15, 2004. As I
explained in my letter, the decision was issued late in the
evening on January 14 and there was not sufficient time to
cancel the furloughs at that time.

Shortly after the letters were sent, we entered into discussions
with AFA to address the manner in which the parties believed we
should proceed. While the discussions took longer than
anticipated and, regretfully, led to greater uncertainty on your
part, I am pleased that the parties have reached an agreement.

The decision was ultimately made to rescind the involuntary
furloughs after awarding the Voluntary Furlough (VF8). Both the
Company and AFA believed this to be the most fair process for
all individuals involved. Therefore, please read the following
updated information carefully to familiarize yourself with the
plan for your return, if applicable:

Voluntary Furlough 8 (VF8) will be awarded to the 200 most
senior flight attendants bidding the VF8. Therefore, all
furloughed flight attendants who were on active status on
January 14 will be returned to duty.

If you were furloughed from active (AVL) status on January 15,
2004, you will return to active status effective February 16,
2004:

As part of the agreement with AFA, you will have seven (7) days
from receipt of this notice to contact the Company acknowledging
your understanding of the requirement to return to active status
on February 16, 2004. Enclosed is a form requiring your
signature acknowledging receipt of this letter and your
understanding of your obligation to return to active status
effective February 16, 2004. Instructions for return are
included on the form.

While your return date will be February 16, 2004, due to the
patterning of off days (below), you will not be expected to be
available to Crew Scheduling until February 18, 2004 at 15:00
for domestic and 17:00 for ITD. You will return to the base from
which you were furloughed. You will be pay protected to your
guarantee for the time period of January 15, 2004 through
January 31, 2004 and will receive your prorated guarantee for
the period of February 1, 2004 through February 15, 2004 based
on the prorated guarantee chart set forth in Section 3.B.3 of
the US Airways Flight Attendant Agreement. You should have
received your advance (1/30 check) for January and will receive
the remaining balance of your guarantee on your 2/15/04 check.
Your LTO on February 16 will reflect a percentage of your option
based on the prorated guarantee. All returning furloughed
reserves will have the following off days scheduled for the
remainder of February:

2/16 - OFF 2/23- OFF
2/17 - INV 2/24- INV
2/18 - INV 2/25- OFF

Flight attendants who were furloughed on January 15, 2004 from
active status may apply for reimbursement of actual and
reasonable expenses associated with a move which would not have
occurred had you not been furloughed. A separate mailing will
follow providing you with the terms of allowable reimbursement,
application instructions and the deadline for submitting
applicable expenses.

Any vacation days originally scheduled for the period of January
15, 2004 through February 15, 2004 will remain cancelled and
will be available for rebid upon your return. Additionally, your
vacation for the remainder of the year will be reinstated to
reflect the days that were previously awarded in the annual bid
process. Vacation payouts will not be processed as flight
attendants are no longer considered to be furloughed.

If you need Recurrent Training, please contact Corporate
Education at 1-800-327-0117, prompt 1,5,6,3.

Flight attendants returning to active status will also be able
to bid for March reserve lines beginning on February 18, 2004.

You may obtain your identification card at your base.

Your CATS access will be reinstated on the date of your return
to duty (February 16).

If you were furloughed from inactive status (either a previous
voluntary furlough or a medical leave, etc.) on January 15,
2004, you will be returned to the status you were on effective
January 14, 2004. You will not be eligible for pay protection or
furlough pay.

I look forward to your return to the Inflight team as we focus
on returning our Company to profitability. Please do not
hesitate to contact either a member of your supervisory team or
Inflight Administration at 1-800-327-0117, prompt 1,5,4,5 if you
have any questions.

Sincerely,

Sherry Groff
Vice President, Inflight Services
