Dear Members,
As you know the Company will continue the seasonal
European flying it provided last summer and in addition will add three new
destination; Athens, Brussels and Zurich. Most of the seasonal flying will start
in mid May. The three new destinations will start as follows:
Athens May 25
Brussels May 28
Zurich June 1
The seasonal flying will end in late October. At this time the Company has left
the end date open for Brussels and Zurich which could mean those flights will
remain after the other seasonal flying is discontinued.
The summer schedule is below:

JUNE TRANSFER POSTING
In anticipation of the Seasonal Flying and understaffing in BOS and LGA the
Company issued the following Transfer Posting for June:
BOS + 25
LGA + 5
PHL + 130
The Transfer bids close at twelve noon, Thursday March 8, 2007. The timing of
the bid is driven by the June Primary Bid timelines. There are contractual
provisions that may be forced into play if the transfer numbers are
unsubscribed.
MAY SEASONAL LOD/O BID
The Company issued the following CBS message today:
THE FOLLOWING FLIGHT ATTENDANT LOD/O BIDS ARE EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2007 (MAY BID
MONTH): /
PHL - GERMAN +6
PHL - PORTUGUESE +2
PHL - SPANISH +5
This bid is a result of additional seasonal flying. Flight attendants awarded a
position as a result of seasonal flying may be released from the program at the
conclusion of the seasonal flying.
Those flight attendants wishing to bid into the GERMAN, PORTUGUESE or SPANISH
LOD/0 Program for the seasonal positions will be allowed to enter PHL for the
seasonal period only. Once seasonal flying is complete, the f/a will return to
his/her primary base on record.
Flight Attendants must be language qualified at the time of the bid closing.
LOD/0 Request Forms must be received by 12:00 NOON, THURSDAY, MARCH 8, 2007.
Forms are available on theHub and must be faxed to 480-693-2878 no later than
the closing date/time.
The seasonal LOD/O bid is a new concept that has been agreed to in the single
agreement negotiations. The intent is to staff the LOD/O required flights with
the necessary LOD/Os. There are language qualified Flight Attendants system wide
who have been reluctant to bid into PHL for a seasonal position and not be able
to leave at the completion of the seasonal flying. For example, Lisbon was not
staffed with a LOD/O last year. Any flight that requires a LOD/O that is not
staffed with a LOD/O is problematic for both the crew and the customers. The
seasonal LOD/O bid should alleviate this problem. The initial bid for May (until
the end of the season) is a relatively small number as the May seasonal flying
is not for a complete bid month. June will start the full bid month periods of
seasonal flying and another seasonal LOD/O bid covering that period will be
posted.
DEADHEAD IS A MUST RIDE
Any deadhead, scheduled or unscheduled is a MUST RIDE. You are NOT REQUIRED TO
RIDE THE JUMPSEAT. Within the past 48 hours, two Flight Attendants on two
different flights have been told by agents the flights they were scheduled to
deadhead on were full and they would have to ride the jumpseat. If this happens
to you, refuse the request and call crew scheduling. The scheduling department
is aware of the contract language but apparently some agents are not. The Union
is trying to track down the source of the problem and resolve it.
Thank You,
Mike Flores, President
