Subject: Early Retirement Incentive (ERI) Application

Dear Members,

The following CBS message was posted on the CBS Bulletin Board this afternoon. Please read carefully. Remember you can rescind your retirement as past practice, however, you will not be considered for the ERI, if you CHANGE your date of retirement AFTER March 1, 2005

THE REQUEST FORM IS LOCATED HERE - www.afausairways.org/Benefits/fa_request05.htm

MEC President, AFA-CWA

------------------------

One of the provisions of the 2004 AFA US Airways Collective Bargaining Agreement is the Early Retirement Incentive (ERI). That provision states the following:

"Flight attendants (i) who are active as of December 1, 2004;

(ii) with at least 20 years of service as a flight attendant;
(iii) who are of at least 55 years of age; and (iv) who notify the Company of their intention to retire prior to March 1, 2005, with the effective date of retirement not earlier than January 2, 2005 and not later than December 31, 2005, shall receive, in addition to any other compensation paid to retiring flight attendants, a payment of $300 per month, commencing January 1, 2006 and for each month thereafter, until the flight attendant reaches age 65. A flight attendant who is scheduled to retire on or after December 16, 2004 and on or before January 1, 2005, at his/her request, will be permitted to delay the retirement date to January 2, 2005 in order to enjoy the benefits of this provision."

If you meet the eligibility requirements set forth above and you are interested in participating in the ERI and receiving the $300 monthly severance payments through to age 65, you must notify the Company by March 1, 2005 of your retirement date (retirement date of no later than December 31, 2005). A form for you to fill out advising the Company of your desire to participate in the ERI is located on theHub or in the Inflight Services offices.

Any eligible flight attendant who retired between January 2, 2005 and March 1, 2005 will not need to fill out the paperwork. These flight attendants will be notified if they met the eligibility requirements. Those eligible flight attendants who have already submitted a request for retirement through the Benefits Administration department with a retirement date of March 2, 2005 and beyond, are also required to submit this form if they want to participate in the ERI.

Please note that by submitting the request form you are only notifying the Company of your request to receive ERI severance payments if you are eligible. You must submit separate applications for any other benefits to which you may be entitled. For example, you must contact the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) to apply for a pension benefit under the Retirement Plan for Flight Attendants in the Service of US Airways, Inc. Furthermore, you will be contacted by Benefits Administration to ascertain whether you are interested in continuing to receive any health care benefits to which you may be entitled through the provisions of your Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Please also note that if you make any changes to your requested retirement date after the March 1, 2005 deadline, you will be ineligible for the ERI severance payments. Therefore, please use care in selecting your retirement date. Once again, the deadline for submitting the form is March 1, 2005.
