Dear Members,
SEVERE WINTER STORM
Due to the winter storm that is affecting the Northeast today there are going to be cases where local Flight Attendants will experience difficulty getting to work. In some cases the journey may prove impossible.
Although some airports may remain open, access to the airport may be limited or completely shut down. Please heed all local warnings and travel restrictions that may affect your individual local area.
The Company "Inclement Weather Policy" is copied below for your review.
If you are in a situation that precludes you from reaching the airport contact crew scheduling and advise them of your situation. If you can't make it to the airport, you can't make it to the airport. If scheduling marks you PER (PERSONAL) contact your supervisor per the instructions below. If you experience problems changing the PER to SCM (Stuck Commute) please advise your local AFA representatives.
Thank you,
The Master Executive Council

Subject: Inclement Weather Policy
The following is a review of InFlight's Inclement Weather departmental policy:
Prior to a predicted severe weather event, flight attendants should make every effort to plan ahead and determine the best method for getting to work.
Should the flight attendant be unable to drive to work due to Hazardous road conditions, he/she will notify Crew Scheduling and a Personal Day will be noted on the flight attendant's record.
The flight attendant is then required to contact his/her Supervisor to advise the supervisor of the Personal Day. If the day was determined to be a qualifying Severe Disruption day at the base, the supervisor will change the day from a Personal Day to an Unable to Commute (SCM) and a notation as to the reason for the SCM will be made. Failure to contact the supervisor prior to the last day of the month will result in the PER remaining on the flight attendant record.
