Subject: MAR. VPLOA AWARDS-IMPORTANT INFO
At the request of the AFA, the Company has agreed to offer as many Voluntary
Personal Leaves of Absence (VPLOA) as possible. In order to increase the number
of VPLOA, the Company and the Union have agreed to the following terms. If you
are awarded a VPLOA, please carefully review the important information below.
February awards have been posted to theHub.
1. Voluntary Personal Leaves of Absence (VPLOA) have been awarded for the month
of March 2007 in accordance with 20.A.2 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
2. In order to offer as many leaves as possible while satisfying the Company's
need to staff the airline at transition time, the following rules will apply
regarding carry-over trips for Flight Attendants awarded a Voluntary Personal
Leaves of Absence (VPLOA):
a. Lineholder flight attendants, who have been awarded a VPLOA and are holding a
carry-over trip, will be responsible for the completion of all duty periods that
carry into the month of the awarded VPLOA, unless otherwise relieved of the
obligation pursuant to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Such
flight attendant is eligible in accordance with the contract to utilize ETB,
AIL, and swap for his/her carry-over trip. Pay for the February VPLOA month will
be paid on the March 15th paycheck.
b. Reserve flight attendants, who have been awarded a VPLOA and have been
assigned a carry-over trip, will be responsible for the completion of all duty
periods that carry into the month of the awarded VPLOA, unless otherwise
relieved of the obligation pursuant to the terms of the Collective Bargaining
Agreement. The March monthly screen will reflect a LOA (Leave of Absence) code
on March 1-3. When Scheduling awards or assigns a reserve a carry-over trip, the
LOA code for each day will be removed to allow the trip to be added. Pay for the
March VPLOA month will be paid on the April 15th paycheck.
c. Flight Attendants will be permitted to pick up a trip from AIL, ETB, or
swap/trade a carry-over trip in the month of the awarded VPLOA in accordance
with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Thank you.
