Dear Members,

BLACKOUT DAYS AND PROTECTED HOLIDAYS

The Company has informed the MEC that in order to protect operations during the holidays they may be invoking the "blackout period" provision of the contract. The blackout period is part of the LTO Reserve System negotiated in the December 2002 Restructuring Agreement and subsequent mediation and arbitration that further defined various elements of the reserve system. If invoked, the blackout period would restrict Reserves from flying Company time on their OFF or INV days if those days off occur during the four calendar days prior to the protected holidays of December 24, 25, 31 and January 1. The other protected holidays during the year that fall under this provision are Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day. The blackout period provision does not apply to any time picked up by Reserves from the ETB.

The specific contract language Section 11.D.6 (page 11-12) is copied below. The 2004 Agreement can be viewed on the AFA web site or theHub.

In order to ensure adequate coverage during protected holidays, there will be a four-day blackout period beginning four (4) calendar days before the protected holiday. Reserves may fly into the blackout period in order to complete a pairing that originates outside the blackout period. Reserves having non-inviolable (OFF) or inviolable (INV) days off during the blackout period may be prohibited from picking up Company open time that originates on days off (OFF or INV) falling within the blackout period. Reserves having available days within the blackout period may be required to split for non-inviolable (OFF) or inviolable (INV) days falling within the blackout period.

To date the Company has not decided if they will be invoking the blackout provision. The Company will notify Reserves via CBS and crew scheduling if that decision is made.

Thank you,

The Master Executive Council

Subject: RESERVES - Quick Call screen

Please note that several changes have been made to CATCREW Option #18.

Option #18 has been modified to designate quick calls!

If you select Option #18 in CATCREW, you will notice a new column at the top right hand side of the screen. It is QCK (in yellow).

-If you only want to see who has made themselves available for quick call, enter a "Y" in the QCK field and press ENTER
- You will see a list of ONLY those people who are available for quick call in seniority order.
- To go back to the full list of reserves, remove the "Y" from the QCK field and press ENTER
- If you scroll down through the entire list of RSV's, you will note that f/a's on the "Quick Call" list have a '*' in the new column labeled "QCK".

We hope that this helps you more easily identify those who are on the quick call list.

Thank you.

Subject: New CATCREW Option #44

As promised in earlier negotiations, Option #44 has been added to CATCREW! This new option is called: "OPEN TIME DISPLAY"

Here are a few items to help you use this new option.

-Select Option #44 from the menu. If you want to see the open time for today, for your base, for all equipment types - when the screen opens, simply press the ENTER key.

- If you desire to see open time for any other base, type in the 3 letter base identifier and press ENTER.

- If you want to see open time for a day other than today, simply fill in the date (ddmmmyy - 16dec05) and press ENTER.

- If you want to show open time for a specific equipment type (30, AB, 7I, 76, 33), tab over to the EQPT section and enter the desired equipment code. If you want to go back to seeing all equipment types, the code is AL.

- Once the screen opens, you will see the list of pairings in open time in order of Duty Periods (DP) with 4 days first, 3 days, etc. Next, it is broken down by Equipment type (EQ), and then by pay.

- 4 day pairings are blue

- 3 day pairings are pink

- 2 day pairings are yellow

- "Red-eyes" will show in yellow with a # sign and only one RON (ex: 24065/18 AB 2# 3 CLT 20/0530 1113 PHX)

- 1 day parings are green

- "All Nigher" pairings are green highlighted (with a # sign!)

- split pairings and possible open pairings are white and have a '*' in front of the pairing number

- OPR pairing show up in green and for the EQ show MX (will only show when a RSV f/a pulls up the list)

NOTE: any time you see a DP number with a # sign, it means that the trip touches more calendar days than the number of duty periods - all Europe trips have # signs because they are 2 duty period / 3-calendar days. All Red-eyes have # signs because they are 2 duty period / 3-calendar days.

- Each line on the screen represents one pairing that is open. In the example below, the pairing leaves on DEC 17 at 0755 from CLT. It is Pairing #41165, originating on the 17th, on a 737, has 3 duty periods, 10 legs, ends in CLT on Dec. 19th at 1436, pay is 15+59, and the RON's are in ORF and EWR. There are 2 positions open (at this time) - "A" and "B".

17/0755 CLT 41165/17 33 3 10 CLT 19/1436 1559 ORF EWR AB

- If you want to see the more pairing detail (and who is already on the pairing) put an "S" on the line next to the pairing and press ENTER

- on the left side you will see the pairing info with overnight locations

- on the right side you will see the crew member info as well as when each of the positions came open

- to exit the pairing detail screen, press ENTER and you will go back to the top of the OPEN TIME list

- To scroll through the open time list, press the PA1 key

- To start the list over from the top, press the ENTER key

- At the bottom of the open time list is the list of "*** POSSIBLE OPEN
TRIPS
***"

- this list shows the pairings of people on the AI List and pairings of people who are not yet signed in

- Trips that are owned by systems scheduling will not display on the list until they are turned back over to daily or future scheduling.

I hope that this info helps clarify how to use the NEW CATCREW OPTION #44!!

I hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
