The following CBS message was sent today:
As you know the ETB Help Guide is now available on theHub and hard copies will be arriving in your base early next week. There is contradicting information that was previously sent to you and is in the ETB Help Guide in regard to TWOP. The following information is to clarify the TWOP
process:
Dropping time via TWOP (Time Off Without Pay) will decrease your flying obligation in a given month. Consistent with drops via the ETB (Electronic Trade Board), you must still finish the month with no less than 50 credited hours. In order to provide greater flexibility with respect to dropping trips via ETB or TWOP (TWOP - AIL process), you will be be allowed to drop a trip that takes you below 50 hours but in no case less than 40 hours. Once projected below 50 hours you will no longer be permitted to drop any more time via TWOP or ETB. It is still your obligation to pick up time to get your credited hours back to at least 50 hours. A flight attendant may pick up the time below the 50-hour floor by picking up ETB or Company time to meet his/her flying obligation when fulfilling the requirement below 50 hours. This is an exception to the normal processing, a flight attendant that is below the 50-hour floor may use either ETB or A/IL as a means of reaching his/her obligation of 50 hours. ETB, when you have NOT projected yourself below 50 hours via ETB or TWOP, does NOT help you meet your obligation.
ETB time dropped or picked up will be reflected on a lineholder's projection (PRJ), obligation (OBL) and maximum (MAX) as an increase when picking up time or as a decrease when dropping time.
AIL time picked up or dropped will be reflected only on the lineholder's projection field.
ETB time will be added to the reserve's projection (PRJ), but will not be added to the reserve's LTO field.
TWOP time dropped via AIL will be reflected as a decrease to the lineholder's PRJ, OBL, and MAX.
Please keep in mind that if you are projected to 40 hours, you must make up a minimum of 10 hours. Crew Scheduling will not split a trip to fulfill this 10 hour obligation.
