  • SAP Crew Room Coverage in April

The Company has agreed to allow SAP Specialists in the Crew Room for the PIT and CLT domiciles in April for the June bid month.  Due to flight attendants returning from the Voluntary Furlough (6-month) the Company agreed with AFA that this service was needed.  Although AFA requested coverage for all crew bases, the Company cited staffing shortages in the majority of bases in deciding to authorize SAP Specialists for PIT and CLT only.

The Crew Room will be staffed with one SAP Specialist for one shift during the days when SAP is open.

    PIT: APRIL 23 - 29
    CLT: APRIL 23 - 30

    10th Annual National Food Drive
    Saturday, May 11, 2002

On the second Saturday in May, Letter Carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America will do more than deliver mail when they walk and drive along their postal routes.  They will also collect the goodness and compassion of their postal customers participating in the 10th annual National Association of Letter Carriers National Food Drive who donate nonperishable food donations left by their mailboxes and in post offices.

Letter Carriers will collect nonperishable food donations left by mailboxes and in post offices and deliver them to local community food banks, pantries and shelters.  More than 1,500 local NALC branches in all 50 states and U.S. jurisdictions are involved in the drive.

The effort by members of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), AFL-CIO, and other volunteers is the largest one-day food drive in the nation.  It has resulted in delivery of more than 462.4 million pounds of donations to community food banks and pantries over the past nine years.

Co-sponsors of the drive are the U.S. Postal Service, local United Way chapters, and the AFL-CIO, along with support from the United Auto Workers/Saturn Partnership Initiative and Saturn retailers.

In New York City, postal customers are asked to take donations to their local post offices during the week of May 6-11.  Persons who have any questions about their community's participation in the drive should ask their letter carrier or contact their local post office.

    Thanks
