Dear Members,

On Tuesday, April 26th, there will be a major rally at the Capitol to coincide with the end of President Bush's 60 stops in 60 Days campaign for privatization of Social Security. A number of groups plan on holding major rallies around the country as part of "Hands Off My Social Security Day."

The rallies will coincide with the Senate Finance Committee's hearing on Social Security privatization and a mjor rally here in Washington, DC outside the actual Senate Finance
Committee hearing.

The Senate Finance Committee hearing is a pivotal event for both sides of this debate and we need to show our strength on this day when the issue of Social Security privatization will dominate the news. The rallies across the country will be significant and will be an important measure of success on this very big day. With that in mind, please help us turnout the largest crowd possible.

As a DC area LEC, we hope that you can help get the word out to increase the size of the crowd. We'd also like folks to wear some AFA shirts, etc to stand out also. Again, we hope you can help turnout some folks.

The rally will begin at 1:15 at the Upper Senate Park on the US Capital Grounds - located at the intersection of Delaware and Constitution Ave. NE.

If you are on a layover, or happen to be in the area, please try to stop in to give support.

Please contact DCA LEC Officers for more details located on their website.

Teddy

MEC President
