ALPA USAPA VOTE RESULTS
The
representational election vote for the US Airways pilots closed this afternoon
and the pilots have voted to leave ALPA and form a separate union as their
collective bargaining representative. Of the 5,328 eligible voting members,
2,723 voted to join the US Airline Pilots Association (USAPA) and 2,254 voted
for the Airline Pilots Association, Intl. (ALPA).
The Association of Flight Attendants believes this issue involves the pilots,
and has no comment at this time as to whom the pilots at US Airways have chosen
as their collective bargaining representative.
The Association of Flight Attendants is committed to the lives of our members
and will continue to work toward reaching a single agreement that merges the two
Flight Attendant Collective Bargaining Agreements that will provide the
improvements our members need and deserve.
Thank you,
Mike Flores, President
The US Airways Master Executive Council
