New Procedures for Notification for Drug and Alcohol Testing at US Airways

Recently a change has taken place of the notification system for DOT/random testing of drug and alcohol. Since the government ruling of DOT/random testing the notification came with the collector holding a white envelope, personally asking the flight attendant their name, then handing over that envelope to the flight attendant who was to be tested, with the name of the flight attendant who was subjected to a test, boldly written on it on that envelope. Once the flight attendant was in receivership of the envelope by the collector, the flight attendant would then proceed to the designated site.

Barbara Jackson, Manager, Drug and Alcohol Department-US Airways, Inc. stated that the envelopes are no longer being used; however, the collector will notify the "A" flight attendant to verify the flight attendant is finished with his/her duties and comes off the aircraft. At that time the collector verifies the identify of the flight attendant and then gives them notification. The flight attendant should sign the notification sheet and then proceed to the collection site for testing. All notifications must be made in person by the collector. Again, all notifications MUST be made in person by the collector!

Please either e-mail or call me should there be any variations to the above procedure!
