Dear Council 41 Members,

As we have all seen on television and in newspapers, Hurricane Katrina has left many of our citizens refugees. No homes, no jobs, no water, nothing!

We have members who are now homeless and in harms way. They are left with only the clothes on their backs.

I just arrived home from the CWA Convention in Chicago. On Sunday I was on the bus going to the convention with a delegate from Mississippi. His family evacuated their home and were safe. On Tuesday I saw this delegate, he had just learned that his home was gone but his family was safe. I had just gone to the ATM and gave him all the money I had. He didn't know how he was going to get home to his family but knew he would be with them soon. We not only have flight attendants who are in need but our brothers and sisters at CWA who will need to totally rebuild their lives. I have not been able to get this person out of my mind.

I am lucky; I came home to a roof over my head. He will not.

US Airways has set up a relief fund for our employees who have been hurt by this huge natural disaster. I ask that if you have a roof over your head you give what you can. Once you decide what you can give, add a zero to that total.

I know that we have many issues surrounding the merger with America West and US Airways but right now, this is of the utmost importance. Below is where you can send checks to the relief fund or you can donate to the Red Cross at www.redcross.org

Employees who wish to contribute to the Fund may send checks (made payable to the US Airways Employee Relief Fund) to:

PACU
3810 N. Liberty Street
Winston-Salem, NC 27105

This will provide people with food, shelter, water, medical supplies and hopefully the will to rebuild their lives.

Thank you and in Solidarity,

Alin Boswell
