Dear Council 41 Members,

Urgent Action Needed!

You are needed on Capitol Hill. On November 17, AFA will be holding an emergency lobby day to stop the TSA and White House from destroying your job and threatening your life. Currently the TSA (or The Stupid Administration) is seriously considering a relaxation of the prohibitive items list. The TSA continues to move forward to allow passengers to bring on commercial flights knives, bows and arrows to name a few. This at a time when you have no protection and if there are guns in the cockpit they offer NO protection.

As well, President Bush is looking to relax the foreign ownership rules governing the airline industry. That means that someone in Singapore could buy our airline and pay us even less than what we make today.

One final issue is that Northwest Airlines is currently looking to outsource all international flight to foreign nationals. What does this have to do with you? When one airline does something like this every other airline will follow. These foreign nationals are paid about 10 cents on the dollar.

The issues again:
1. Keeping weapons to kill flight attendants OFF our flights.
2. Prohibit the sale of our companies to foreign investors.
3. Stop the outsourcing of our jobs to foreign nationals.

You will be paired with experienced and trained lobbyist but you are needed to tell your elected representatives to GET TO WORK!

If you are free on November 17th please email Alin Boswell at alin@afausairways.org. Please leave your address, phone number and email contact. We will begin at 9:30 and the day should end no later than 4:00pm. Nothing scares the hell out of Congress than a large group of flight attendants marching down the hall telling them to GET TO WORK

In Solidarity,

Alin Boswell
