Council AFA-CWA Members,
Displacement Update - Cancelled
Yesterday I participated in a conference call with
Hector Adler, Vice President of Inflight Services,
concerning the future displacements planned for 67
flight attendants based in DCA.
After he had a chance to review the voluntary transfers
for the month of May the number of displacements was
reduced to 39. During the call Mr. Adler made the
executive decision to cancel the 39 displacements.
The 39 flight attendants were called yesterday to inform
them of this change of heart. I would like to thank Mr.
Adler for this decision as I believe it is in the best
interest of the Company and specifically those flight
attendants who were scheduled to be displaced from DCA.
As well I would like to thank Council 41 LEC Secretary
Stephen Smith
(ssmith2@afausairways.org) and Council 41 Reserve
Chair Audra West
(awest@afausairways.org) for confronting senior
management in CLT during a Crew News session concerning
the displacements and the impact that it would have on
their lives and those that were scheduled to be
displaced. When you have the opportunity, please thank
them for their leadership surrounding this issue.
