Members,

RESERVE DUTY TRANSITION

As you are aware effective May 1, 2005 a Reserve Flight Attendant’s day off will begin at 0001 domicile local time and end at 2400 domicile local time. The transition from April to May will include the following modification: If you are scheduled off at the end of April and your first AVL day is May 1 you will go on duty at 1500 or 1700(ITD) on April 30. Your next set of days off will begin at 1500/1700 as shown in the example below. Although the ITD fence will come down on May 1 reserves on ITD in April will be obligated to the ITD program until 0001 May 1. Additional examples can be found in the Guide to Implementation of Revision on theHUB or the AFA website. I have copied the link to the complete guide here: http://www.afausairways.org/Restructure/05guide.htm

The Reserve’s first AVL day is May 1st. As such he/she will go on duty at 1500 or ITD17:00 on April 30th and end such period at 1500 or ITD17:00 on his/her last day. Then his/her next AVL period will begin at 0001. The net result of this transition procedure is he/she will gain an extra nine hours off or seven hours if ITD. Note: If you had vacation on 28th thru the 30th it would be handled in the same manner.
