New Hire Opportunities Available To Involuntary Furloughed Flight Attendants
The Association of Flight Attendants has reached an agreement with the company whereby America West will offer flight attendant positions to involuntary furloughed flight attendants on the US Airways seniority list. The offering of positions will start with the most senior involuntary furloughed flight attendant and the process will continue until the most junior involuntary furloughed flight attendant has TWICE been offered a position. MidAtlantic flight attendants with recall rights to US Airways will not be subjected to the freeze/hold provisions of the MidAtlantic Airways Transitional Flow Procedures letter and are therefore eligible to participate in this offering.

After several months of
negotiations, the Association of Flight Attendants at US Airways and America
West reached a tentative Transition Agreement with the Company. The US Airways
AFA Master Executive Council ratified the agreement on January 16, 2005. The
agreement will govern the activities of the two flight attendant workforces and
the Company during the period of separate operations.
