This is a very important month for
all flight attendants and other crew members.
Congress is back from their short recess and the
Senate needs to address S.2059, which is the Flight
Crew FMLA Technical Corrections Act. This bill would
finally give all crew members the same rights as
other working Americans who apply for FMLA. As most
of you know, it is very hard for us to be approved
for FMLA because of the way our hours are
calculated. It is unconscionable that we should have
to beg for the same rights and privileges that all
other full time employees enjoy. (No one who has
ever worked a four day trip would ever claim that we
are not "full time" employees!!).
So here is what you need to do: have every member of
voting age in your household call your NC Senator
and ask that they co-sponsor S.2059. You won't have
to have a chat with anyone and it only takes a few
seconds to make the call. All you need to say to
them is this:
I am a North Carolina resident and voter and I
want to urge Senator ________ to co-sponsor S.2059,
the Flight Crew FMLA Technical Corrections Act.
Congress has a short session before the August
recess and we need to get this passed before all the
attention shifts to the election in the fall. We
cannot emphasize enough the critical importance of
this bill for the future quality of life for you and
your family members. PLEASE CALL NOW.
