Jack Curtis Doyle, 76, of Castle Hayne, NC, was called
home on Saturday, April 18th by his heavenly Savior. He
was born in Bluefield, West "By God" Virginia, on July
25, 1932. He was the son of the late Curtis Byron and
Cordie Glover Doyle.
Jack was proud of his service in the United States Navy
for four years during the Korean War and his 33 years
with Piedmont Airlines. He lived in many places in West
Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina. He was an active
member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church for 45
years, and President of the United Methodist Men, Young
at Heart, and "President for Life" of the O.H. Joy
Sunday School class. After loving coercion from his
granddaughter, Jillian, Jack was a pilgrim on the Walk
to Emmaus where he re-encountered his Lord and Savior.
Jack never met a stranger, and enjoyed making friends
all over the United States on his travels with his wife,
Nannie, and brother and sister-in-law Randy, and Booty
Simmons.
Jack was extremely proud of his family and is survived
by his wife of 52 years, Nannie S. Doyle, by his
children, Deborah Anne Chiappisi and her husband
Stephen, Curtis Matthew Doyle, and Jason Lee Doyle and
wife Tammy. He is also survived by his "favorite"
granddaughter, Jillian Marie Chiappisi and "favorite"
grandson, Ethan Nicholas Chiappisi, and a favorite
cousin, Thomas Doyle of Salem, Virginia.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held at Wesley
Memorial United Methodist Church, on Tuesday, April 21,
at 2:00 pm in the afternoon. Visitation will take place
at 1:00 pm in the Wesley Memorial Gathering Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations
be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1401
South College Road, Wilmington, North Carolina 28403 or
for research to the Crohn's and Colitis Association.
