David
Michael Butler age 59 went home to be with his father on
Sunday, March 15, 2009 at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt
Lake City, Utah after sustaining injuries in an
automobile accident January 6th. He was surrounded by
his loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, David was a loving and devoted
son to his mother, Ann M. Butler and to his father, the
late David M. Butler, Sr. He was predeceased in death by
his father, his paternal grandparents James and Martha
Butler and maternal grandparents Felix and Aniela
Przybylowicz.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his two
nieces that he adored immensely and considered the
"loves of his life" Aniela and Alana Butler, his younger
brother, Drew and his fiancé, Amy and her son Carsen of
Salt Lake City, UT; as well as countless members of his
extended family, co-workers from U.S. Airways and
friends who supported him with their many prayers and
cards. Additionally, David is survived by his animals
which he considered "his children". Dogs, Gunner, Gordo,
Red, Maxine, Koda and cats DC,, Kizzy, Claude & Gypsy.
David lived his life to the fullest. He was proud to be
an Army veteran who served Honorably during the Vietnam
War. He worked for U. S. Airways for thirty years and
became a world traveler allowing him to experience
first-hand, the culture and customs of so many of the
places he visited. David was a generous man, sharing his
adventures with his family and friends with countless
pictures,, stories and the souvenirs he never forgot to
bring back for so many of us.
He was a wonderful cook who brought to life his Polish
heritage through so many of the meals he prepared for
his family and friends. David had a love for unique
recipes and enjoyed sharing them with all the cooks in
the family, especially his Aunt Norma.
David will be sorely missed and forever loved by his
family and friends.
David's family would like to thank Alexis, Eugina, Tom
and Suzanne from Senior Helpers for their amazing
support and care as well as Dr. Francis and the staff at
St. Mark's Hospital for their compassion and support
during David's final days. We'd like to thank the
Nursing Staff (especially Russell & Karen) for the
comfort and care each of you provided David as well as
to his family. We are comforted in knowing that you did
everything you could to ensure David was comfortable and
at peace in his journey home.
A celebration of David's life will be held at a later
date in Victoria, TX. In lieu of flowers our family asks
that donations be made to your local Humane Society,
SPCA , World Wildlife Foundation or charity of your
choice.
