John Petronzi has agreed, on a trial basis, to
lower the reserve staffing percentages in certain bases for April. He is willing
to come down to 17 % reserve coverage from 20% for all bases, except LGA, where
he has been TDY (ing) flight attendants for the last few months.
Coming down to 17% won't affect
PIT or CLT, because Bill Scott-Crew Planning has already been building as many
lines as possible in those particular bases. However, this change will
allow him to build more lines, if possible, in PHL, DCA and BOS. Sometimes
even though the numbers say he can build more lines, at the very end of the line
building process the last remaining pairings are not legal with each other, or
certain stretches of time are completely void and the pairings that remain do
not make legal lines.
