Dear Members,

2004 F/A Agreement/Guide to Implementation

A copy of the 2004 Flight Attendant Agreement/Contract and a copy of the entire Guide to Implementation will be available in the BOS Crew room by the first week in January. The 2004 Contract will be in a WHITE BINDER and the Guide to Implementation will be in a GREEN BINDER. Please do not remove these binders from the crew room.

These hard copies will be an additional reference tool as both the 2004 F/A Contract and Guide to Implementation are also available via the AFA Website and the HUB. The 2004 F/A Agreement/Contract side letters were not available when these documents were printed; therefore they are not included in the WHITE BINDER. These side letters will be included in the contract distributed to each flight attendant.

Suggestions for Crew room use: When submitting a PE80 claim via the HUB, a f/a may want to reference the contract Section associated with the claim or for scheduling issues a f/a may reference the contract language. Referencing The Guide will offer examples of ETB processing /Weekend Restrictions/Vacation bidding/Sick etc.

The 2004 Agreement/Contract has been sent to the printers. Confirmation from the Company as to when each flight attendant will receive a copy has not been provided at this time. It is expected that an update for distribution to flight attendants will be sometime in January. When a distribution date is established notification will be provided. When you receive your copy, please make your suitcase its new home so that you may keep it easily accessible. Both binders will remain in the Crew room even after each individual f/a has received their contract copy.

The Council/69/BOS Officers prepared both these binders for Crew room use. Although graffiti lovers may be tempted, please reconsider. Thanks in advance.

January 06 reminders

Reserve Guarantee goes up to 73:00

Negotiated improvements for 2006: These improvements to our contract were in exchange for not opposing portions of the Company's 'Plan of Reorganization' when we were still in bankruptcy just before emergence, September 2005.

The Company agrees to pay sick time at 100% pay and credit for the first sick occurrence originating in a calendar year up to a maximum of (4) four consecutive calendar days. Each sick claim thereafter in the calendar year will be paid at 70%. The TARGET DATE FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS PROVISION IS JANUARY 1, 2006, BUT IN NO CASE WILL THIS PROVISION BE IMPLEMENTED LATER THAN MARCH 31, 2006. If this provision is implemented after January 1, 2006, the occurrence that will be paid at 100% during calendar year 2006, pursuant to this provision, will be the first sick occurrence following the date of implementation.

The Company agrees to extend medical/dental benefits to flight attendants on unpaid medical / maternity leaves of absence at the employee (Company paid) rate for a period of 270 days following the commencement of the unpaid leave of absence. If the flight attendant elects this option, he/she will be extended COBRA at the completion of the 270 day period. This change will be effective January 1, 2006

Pursuant to Company policy, flight attendants who are totally and permanently disabled (as determined by the Social Security Administration) and their eligible family members receive travel privileges on USAirways based on their seniority measured by active serve at the time of disability. Flight attendants with ten (10) or more years of active service receive the same pass travel while those with less than ten (10) years of active service receive the same travel privileges as employees on medical leaves (unlimited on-line travel for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment and two (2) vacation/personal passes to be used anytime during the leave).

The company agrees to eliminate the letter entitled "Deadhead Pay and Credit" (Attachment C.6 of the 2004 AFA-USAirways Agreement) and shall replace it in its entirety with language as follows: "In no event and at no time shall pilots and flight attendants be subject to different rules for the order in which rigs should be calculated unless the Company and AFA agree to do so. Flight attendants will have their duty rigs and VM pay for deadhead calculated in the same manner as pilots pursuant to the settlement of ALPA's Duty Rigs and VM Pay for DH grievance".

Scheduling Note

Example of no weekend/day restriction:

Flight attendant has a 4/day trip Thursday Dec 29 through Sunday Jan 1
Flight attendant does not have a trip originating Jan 1

Interpretation of the Week end restriction language: As long as the line in the new month does not have a trip originating on the weekend, in this case Sunday, there is no restriction. If on the other hand, there was a trip originating on Jan 1 that was knocked out by the carry over trip there would be a Sunday restriction.

As a reminder to all, when speaking with scheduling note the time, date, name of scheduler. Should an issue arise, ask for the 'channel number' and note this as well.

On behalf of your local officers and committee members, we wish you a Happy, Healthy New Year.
