  • BOS LEC Representatives - Contact Information

Dear Members,

USA MEC Meeting / AFA-CWA Board of Directors Meeting

The USA MEC Meeting will be held on November 11-13 followed by the Board of Directors Meeting from November 14-16 and both will be held in Portland, Oregon. Should you need to contact the LECP, you may either leave a message on the AFA Council 69 voice mail at 781 289 8454 or 617 470 3872 /cell - messages will be checked daily. In addition you may also use the e-mail address Lcaramello@afausairways.org as messages are checked continuously. Due to Karen Delutis being unavailable at this time as she is still in recovery from an occupational injury, if needed, you may contact Sherri Baker/LEC Reserve Chair BOS/MEC Reserve Chair/Scheduling Committee, she will be available on the following dates - November 10 and 11, thereafter she will be traveling to/in PHX from the 12th to the 16th of November to discuss additional resolutions related to the 24/7 FAA mandate.

The International Officers' elections will be held this year at the Board of Directors meeting. As discussed at the recent Council 69 meeting on October 18th, currently the only candidate running for International President is the incumbent, Pat Friend. This could change should another candidate be nominated from the floor the day the elections take place, which will be November 15th beginning at 10:00am local time. If any member in good standing is interested in running for the position of International President, or any of the other officer positions, you may provide a willingness to serve / resume to the International Office. Information regarding - Nominations and Election of officers may be reviewed at www.afanet.org, click on Constitution and By-Laws select Article VIII. A review of the International officer's duties may be obtained on line at the same web address, click on Constitution and By-Laws select Section IV International Officers. There are currently (5) candidates running for International Vice President, George Donahue not being one of them as he will be retiring and (2) candidates will be running for International Secretary-Treasurer, one of the candidates is the incumbent. Unlike any other election each LECP or council representative uses the roll call vote of their council. Boston's current roll call vote is 203.

As discussed and advised at the Council/69 meeting on October 18th, any flight attendant who wishes their vote to be cast FOR the incumbent candidate Pat Friend for International President, please contact me either via e-mail or phone/voice mail. Otherwise, Council/69 will be using the roll call vote for either another candidate qualified for the position of International President should one be nominated or abstaining from voting for the one candidate for the position of International President. Any member who wishes to discuss the upcoming election, these decisions or any of the candidates, please contact me.
