Dear Members,
PROVIDING A
STATEMENT TO THE COMPANY
Just a reminder to flight attendants: when you are involved
in an incident that would require a written statement, you have
24 hours in which to provide this statement to the company. You
do not have to discuss the situation verbally at the time of the
incident and it is recommended that you do not and that you
contact a union representative immediately. If a union
representative is not available at that moment advise the
company, FAA whomever, that you would be happy to comply but
want your union representative present.
When an incident occurs it is upsetting and very natural for one
to be expressive and offer explanations, if this could just
serve as a reminder to take a deep breath and step back from the
incident before verbalizing anything.
A flight attendant who is required to meet with a Company
representative shall be entitled to be accompanied by his/her
union elected representative or another flight attendant, if the
flight attendant desires. Section 24 F 8
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this
information, please contact the local office.
