Recall Rescinded
As noted in a most recent MEC -E-Line, the events at the Special Meeting in DCA on August 5th, yielded the MEC President, Teddy Xidas resigning as of October 16th and scheduling a meeting on August 16th at the MEC Office in PIT for the purpose of electing a new MEC President.
Any flight attendant in good standing interested in this position may submit an application, which is available on the AFA Website,
and/or send a resume or a letter of willingness to serve to MEC Secretary Deb McCormick at
dmccormick@afausairways.org .
The successful candidate will hold the position of MEC President Elect until October 16th. During the period from the time of election until October 16th, the MEC President Elect will have the opportunity to transition with the sitting MEC President. This will hopefully offer continuity through inclusion in all the current activities of the sitting MEC President. This mentoring will also offer review of procedures and responsibilities of the position.
Meeting in PHX with AWA
The USAirways MEC will be meeting with America West Management including Mr. Doug Parker, on August 18th in Tempe, Arizona. America West MEC will also be in attendance. The USAirways MEC has not been provided with an agenda other than the invitation to meet with the CEO, management employees and tour the facilities in Tempe. It is expected that any discussions will be informal.
