RESERVE QUICK NOTES: JULY 08
RESERVE LINES
Please take some time to review SEC 11 Reserves, particularly C.
Processing of Reserves. The company has chosen not to provide
any INV days around the July 4th holiday in the July reserve
line packet. The company needs to be reminded of our language in
SEC 9 C. 5 - the reserve lines shall be constructed by the
Company giving consideration to recommendations from the AFA
Schedule Committee..
It would appear that no consideration to any recommendations
from AFA were given as this is not the first time reserve lines
were made only placing OFF days around a holiday. Dialogue needs
to happen. AFA is entitled to an explanation from the company
why no INV days were offered around the July 4th holiday -
explanations of these decisions should be discussed and provided
for review prior to construction of the reserve lines not after.
Now is the time for reserves to re- review SEC 11 - know your
contractual rights.
There is language the company must comply with when or if they
are going to assign a trip into a reserve's OFF day - PLEASE
review this language. Ask about coverage, keep notes of who you
speak to and the time. Please remember you are released after
trip assignment pursuant to SEC 11 D 4.
Consider taking a courtesy call as you may have a better choice
of trips than waiting for a trip from Daily scheduling or
getting quick called. Remember you can only be assigned OPR
twice pursuant to SEC 11 G particularly # 2. If assigned OPR
remember to have scheduling place an ASG code in your screen.
If any reserve experiences any irregularities or has any
questions regarding an assignment, please contact the local
office.
