Dear Members,

Uniform Show Report
Heather Santello/ AFA LEC Uniform Representative BOS

First, A thank you to everyone who was able to attend the road show in BOS on Wednesday. For everyone who wanted to attend and couldn't I'll try to pass on as much info as I can. To say I was pleased would be an understatement. Stan Herman and his staff did a great job listening to the work groups. The uniforms are great looking!! Stylish, sharp, functional and offer a variety of pieces. The women had three shirts to choose from; a pale blue, a white as well as a shirt striped with the heritage colors. US Airways blue being the predominate blue stripe, with Piedmont blue, Alleghany red and America West orange muted. Inside the collars and the cuffs of the long sleeve are the heritage stripes. The sweater set was presented in two colors. A blue that was leaning toward the royal family and a blue that was toward the slate blue. The skirt and pants both had the hidden insert that stretches to fit. The two piece (similar to the old cream US Airways top and skirt, without the peplum look) in the navy core color may be a popular choice. The jackets are single breasted. There is a zip front jacket for the men and women. There is also a zip front vest for men and women. The men have two ties to chose from, a navy with a lighter shade of blue and a heritage stripe. Both are very sharp. There is a skort which will not be a required piece. This may become a popular item once they tweak it a little more. It did look promising. There are two scarves, one is a chiffon (it's beautiful!) with the swoosh design, long. The other is a square with a blue border and inside the border small airplanes in the heritage colors (solid colors for each plane) The info I'm getting is the ties and scarves will be required for int'l but optional for domestic. There are polo style shirts but these will only be available to the agents. All the shirts and the sweater sets can be tucked in or left out. There are unique details to a lot of the pieces. Finally the dress ...It looked great. It was zip front (strange as it sounds it was hot!) Of course the model was a size 4 but I'm told and the promise from Stan was that, the style even in larger sizes look great.

All the models in the road show were wearing pieces that were just completed last Friday. The union and the company are aware that Flight Attendant's are anxious for a new uniform, they are trying hard to get it out fast but keep in mind this is something we will be wearing for a while and we want it to look good and wear well. The material feels good. It's lightweight but sturdy. It has a soft feel. The shirts have darts in the front and back. These are ladies shirts. As far as I could tell everyone wore black shoes with the uniform and they looked good. After seeing these new uniforms it's going to be hard to go back to the tired old uniforms we are currently wearing!!! Also I was told there are 83 different combos for the women to wear with the pieces they showed. Pictures should be available on the hub towards the end of the month. Take a look I believe you will like what you see. (FYI shirts will most likely be available in long sleeve, short sleeve and a 3/4 sleeve in the heritage stripe for women) Almost forgot, they had two different apron designs-the current style we have now for men and a wrap style for women. To be honest it was hard to look at anything but the new uniforms. One more bit of information, each employee will receive a $25.00 certificate to the Men's Warehouse for any alterations needed even after the employee has been fitted. If no alterations are needed, the $25.00 may be used for purchases at any Men's Warehouse. If anyone has any questions not covered please let Ian Daniel/AFA LEC ( Male) Uniform Representative BOS or I know.

Thank you.
