Dear Members,
Ribbons - Honoring Crew on 1549
AFA is providing blue and white ribbons to wear pinned behind
your wings to honor the crew and their heroic actions on board
flight 1549 - the ribbons have been placed in your AFA file -
black file cabinets in the mail room. Simple instructions for
pinning the ribbons are above the file cabinets and posted on
the AFA board in the crew room.
The company is allowing flight attendants to wear this simple
ribbon to honor the crew on flight 1549.
MEC Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting
The combined MEC Meetings and Board of Directors Meetings will
be held in Milwaukee, WI. Travel to and meetings begin on March
28th and end on April 4th. January 31st is the deadline for
submission of Agenda Items. After which the International Office
will provide all agenda items to each council to review with
their membership.
Local Council 69 BOS Meeting (2nd) Reminder
Just another reminder that a local meeting will be held on March
18th at the IAM Hall, 830 Saratoga Street, E Boston, Ma. from
10:00 until 2:00. The agenda for this meeting still has not been
completed but will include the agenda Items that have been
submitted for action at the Board of Directors meeting. Thanks
for your patience. Other reminders will be sent out as the date
nears.
Crew Accommodations Local Chair and committee Meeting
Just a reminder, Heather Santello has volunteered for the Local
Crew Accommodations position in Boston and recently attended the
first Crew Accommodations meeting chaired by Jody Compton, MEC
Chairperson. Heather will attend a site inspection as part of
her training and then begin to receive all hotel reports
submitted via the HUB by Boston based flight attendants. Again,
anytime you have a compliment or complaint, please submit this
feedback via the hotel report on the HUB. It is the fastest way
for the company and AFA to receive this information. If you have
a camera phone or carry a camera taking pictures also assists
the committee. Supplying the name/names of hotel employees that
you speak to allows the company the ability to speak directly to
the individual(s) involved should the need arise.
Additionally, please remember there is a Crew Accommodations
binder in the BOS crew room for your reference which contains
the MEC Crew Accommodations reports/updates and names of hotels
that have been chosen after a site inspection. For consistency,
a binder containing the same information will be available in
every East crew room.
