Dear Members,
LEAVE ALL BLADES BEHIND UPDATE
The message that needs to get out to all is to sign the petition to reverse the decision of TSA Administrator Kip Hawley. His decision has turned back the clock to pre - September 11th. We need to let this guy know that we do not want scissors with a 4 inch blade, screwdrivers, etc in the cabin of the aircraft. You can go to this website
www.leaveallbladesbehind.com
and sign this on line petition. It takes two seconds. Ask your family and friends to go to this website and do the same. This decision affects us all and with this new threat out there, who needs this?
I will be in the crew room on Wednesday a.m., January 25th, to provide small bag tags for anyone that wishes to attach the tag to your crew luggage. I have a limited supply of bag tags as they were made by Council/69 Officers with the supply of stickers sent by the AFA International Air, Safety, Health & Security Coordinator, Candace Kolander. I will also have a paper petition for anyone who wishes to sign this instead of going on line. Copies of the paper petition will be available for anyone who wishes to take one to obtain signatures of family, friends, and co workers.
THE PETITION CAN BE
DOWNLOADED FROM HERE
AND PRINTED
Leafleting will be in one session and is still scheduled on January 30th from 3:00pm to 6:00pm - Terminal B US Airways/ Outside of the Terminal along the sidewalk. American Eagle AFA Representatives advised that they will be participating in the leafleting event at US Airways. The permit from Massport will be provided on the 28th January. Restrictions in leafleting include; outside of the terminal only/ no blocking of door ways/any insignia worn on clothing related to the leafleting must not be worn inside the terminal area/no posting of signage.
Should you have any questions, please contact either myself or Karen Delutis. Contact information is posted on the AFA Board in the crew room.
