Massachusetts Unemployment
Benefits Facts:
There
are two ways to file a claim for unemployment insurance benefits:
1.
Either by calling the Unemployment Insurance TeleClaim Center or
2.
By reporting in person to a Walk-In claims center.
Walk-In
Centers are located in communities throughout the state.

Filing hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to
12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
You may file your claim
during your first week of total or partial unemployment. (To delay may
cost you benefits)

Once you file, the
determination as to your benefit amount will take 3-4 weeks.

You may earn up to a
third of your weekly benefit amount without affecting you Unemployment
Insurance Benefit.

Your benefit credit is for a
maximum of 30 weeks over 1 year's time.

Your benefit credit is
calculated by looking at your two highest quarters over the last 15 months.

Under certain
circumstances, claimants may be eligible for up to an additional 18 weeks of
UI benefits while attending approved training.
